Native of Dagestan suspected of beating NSMU student expelled from university

Said Kapiev, a native of Dagestan, who is suspected of beating a female student of the Novosibirsk State Medical University (NSMU), was expelled from the university, the Rector Igor Marinkin has reported today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a criminal case was initiated against Said Kapiev, after mass media spread information that he had beaten Christina Kumeda, who had allegedly insulted Kapiev's mother in correspondence over a social network.

The order to expel Kapiev for an act of hooliganism and flagrant violation of internal discipline was signed today, said Rector Marinkin, adding that he did not talk personally with Kapiev, but communicated only with Kumeda and her father. According to his story, the girl is under stress and asked to grant her a leave to restore her health.

In his turn, Kapiev said on November 28 that after the incident he was persecuted by nationalists. After the unsanctioned rally organized in Novosibirsk by activists of the movement "Russian Breakthrough" with a demand to expel the young man from the university, the protesters shelled the hostel, where, in their opinion, Kapiev was hiding, the RIA "Dagestan" reports.

  • Compensation decrease for illegal prosecution violates rights of KBR resident

The court ruling, which awarded Madin Gubzhokov compensation of 30,000 roubles for unlawful criminal prosecution, is incomparable with the moral harm caused by the actions of Azamat Kyaov, a former law enforcer.
