Dagestan: Marat Gunashev's father complains to Russian President about violations of his son's rights and states his innocence
The father of the doctor Marat Gunashev, detained in Dagestan on suspicion of involvement in the murder of the head of the Makhachkala UVD (Interior Department) has complained to President Vladimir Putin on the course of the criminal investigation instigated against his son.
Let us remind you that Marat Gunashev, a doctor from City Hospital No. 2 of Makhachkala, was detained on November 28, 2012, under the murder case of Akhmed Magomedov, the head of the Makhachkala UVD. Gunashev denies any involvement in the crime.
As stated by Kamil Gunashev, Marat's father, during the year that elapsed after his detention investigators failed to carry at least one investigative activity with his participation.
"They can't prove his guilt, as he is innocent; and they don't set him free, because they can't admit their own mistakes," Kamil Gunashev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his story, on December 9, he sent a complaint against the investigating authorities to the Internet reception office of President Vladimir Putin and by mail. The text of the appeal also noted that prior to every new court ruling to extend Marat Gunashev's arrest, "his son was exposed to pressure with the aim to force him to incriminate himself."
