Ex-official in Chechnya fined for fraud and abuse of office
A former head of the administration of one of the settlements of the Naur District of Chechnya was fined by 110,000 roubles on charges of fraud and abuse of office and deprived of the right to take managerial posts for two years.
"On December 10, the Naur District Court passed a verdict against Lema Aziev, the former head of the administration of the village of Mekenskaya, who was accused of aiding and abetting in the commission of fraud at receiving benefits (Part 5, Article 33, and Part 2, Article 159) and abuse of office (Part 2, Article 286, of the Russian Criminal Code)," the "Caucasian Knot" has learnt from the local law enforcement bodies.
His defence said that they would not appeal against the sentence.
Let us remind you that that this August Alimbek Aleroev, the former head of the village administration of Chernokozovo was convicted in the Naur District. He was also accused of abuse of office, theft of another person's property with the abuse of his official position and sentenced to one year of forced labour, collection of five percent of his salary and a fine of 130,000 roubles.
