Trial of "Muslim wedding" case completes questioning of witnesses
Today, a regular session of the court that considers the case of the "Muslim wedding", held in the Dagestani city of Kizlyar, has completed examination of witnesses and watching the video from the place of detention of the wedding cortege.
Let us remind you that on April 27, 2013, in Kizlyar, policemen stopped a wedding cortege with Islamic flags. Eyewitnesses reported that participants of the ceremony were beaten, while the local MIA issued a statement in response saying that they had detained members of an extremist organization.
Today, the court questioned the last defence witness, who spoke about what happened at the entrance to Kizlyar, as Murid Bilalov, Kartashov's cousin, who is also his public defender, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"Besides, the court has watched the video that we had attached to the case. Experts managed to restore the deleted 35-second footage showing how 8 policemen attacked a quietly standing man and began kicking him. The judge said after watching that this was a method of detention," said Murid Bilalov.
According to his version, the case is considered in a biased manner.
The next session is scheduled for December 24.
