Abakarov: detentions in Dagestan were caused by plans to hold rallies against Caucasophobia in Moscow
It is planned to use Moscow as the venue of the all-Russian rally against Caucasophobia; however, its date has not been defined yet, said Abakar Abakarov, a member of the Supreme Council of the Russian Congress of Caucasian Nations. According to his story, the detentions conducted on December 9 in Makhachkala were directly connected with the plans to hold the rally in Moscow.
"The planned rally in Moscow was announced at the recent rally in support of lawyer Musaev. But given the upcoming New Year and the Olympics, we decided to postpone it. However, the day before yesterday, on December 9, early in the morning, at fifty addresses detentions were made of the participants of the rally in Makhachkala, including the speakers," said Abakar Abakarov.
He associates the detentions with the plans to hold a large-scale protest rally in Russian capital.
"I link the mass detentions after the rally in Dagestan with the plans of Moscow rally. Obviously, someone does not want to hear the problems voiced out in Moscow," said Abakarov.
According to his version, the application for a rally may be filed in the coming days.
