Residents of township Esto-Sadok (Sochi) state destruction of driveways by builders (video)
Builders have destroyed the access ways to the Sochi Township named Esto-Sadok by their heavy trucks, having spoiled Beryozovaya Street, locals assert.
"Locals face big problems: because of Olympic and other commercial construction, roads inside the settlement are damaged; besides, there are serious environmental problems," Sergey Avdeev, a resident of Krasnaya Polyana and a former head of the local administration, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"Moreover, they destroy even what had been built back in the Soviet time: roads, rainfall discharge and sewage systems," said Avdeev.
"We endure hardships since Sochi was announced to be the Olympic capital. Our well-maintained street has turned into a park of heavy trucks. One fears to walk along: no sidewalks; there's dirt even when it does not rain; and when it does, water flows not only along the street, but also floods the yards," Albert Georgiev, a resident of Beryozovaya Street, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Officials from the local administration argue that the road in question will be asphalted; and all the construction works should be completed by December 25.
