Ferriani: Sochi Sledge Centre is completely ready for 2014 Olympics
The "Sledge" Centre in Sochi, which will host the Olympic competitions in sledge, bobsleigh and skeleton, is completely ready for the races, said Ivo Ferriani, the president of the International Federation of Bobsleigh and Toboggan.
Let us remind you that that this week, on December 9, messages appeared in the social network Facebook about a collapse of a part of the roof of the sledge-bobsleigh track at night after a strong snowfall.
Sochi-2014 Organizing Committee has once again denied the information in response to the request, which was sent by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"The 'Sledge Centre' is ready to welcome the Olympic competitions. No damage to the sledge-bobsleigh track was fixed," said the press service of the Committee in the answer.
According to Vyacheslav Schavlev, a deputy director of the above Centre, who talked to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, the Sochi track is the safest in the world of almost 20 currently existing tracks.
"In February, there were test races here: it was nice to be able to check everything. Now I see that many things have become much better; and I can say that the facility is ready. I talked with athletes; they said they are quite happy with the conditions on the track," the official website "Sochi-2014" quotes Ivo Ferriani as saying.
