Mosque-goers, detained near Makhachkala, back at large
The believers, who were detained after the Friday prayer at the mosque of the village of Leninkent, located in Makhachkala, have been released, said a local resident. The local ROVD (District Interior Division) has confirmed the information.
On December 20, the parishioners of the Leninkent mosque said that policemen detained about fifteen Muslims. "We were told that they were taken for identification," one of the mosque-goers said. The Kirov ROVD reported that ten persons were brought to them.
Indeed, according to the latest information, provided by the believers, the police had detained ten persons. By 8:00 p.m., all of them were released, a local resident told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"They were detained at the exit from Leninkent already after namaz. All the detainees are Salafis," said a local source, adding that those who were brought to the Kirov ROVD, were checked "under some operational databases; they all were photographed and fingerprinted."
