Dagestan: Magomed Dabaev's relatives cannot find him
On December 20, in Dagestan, power agents detained Magomed Dabaev, a resident of the village of Novy Agachaul, Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan, whose whereabouts are still unknown, according to his relatives. Dabaev was detained on suspicion of aiding militants, said a source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
Today, his father Dabai Dabaev has turned to the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy).
According to Dabai Dabaev, on December 20, at about three o'clock in the afternoon, his 28-year-old son Magomed drove his wife to the department store GUM in Makhachkala. After that, none of his relatives has ever seen him.
"During 24 hours we knew nothing about Magomed. We were sure that he was kidnapped. Why nobody had called us to say that it was a detention? Why wasn't he allowed to make a call or hire a lawyer?" the father asks in his application to the DRPO.
"Earlier, Magomed was never involved in any wrongdoing. He's a devout Muslim; maybe this could cause the pressure on him," the father of the detainee believes.
