Rally in Maikop demands to punish initiators of pension reform
Today, about 200 people gathered at a rally organized in the city of Maikop by the Adyg branch of the Labour Party of Russia. The protesters demanded to revise certain provisions of the pension reform and punish the officials responsible for preparation thereof, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
According to the organizers, the rally in the capital of Adygea was agreed upon by the city administration.
"We received a written permission of the Mayoralty yesterday (on December 20) in the evening. The rally took place under a close scrutiny of law enforcers, both in uniform and in plain clothes," Zaurbek Shu, the leader of the regional branch of the above party, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Apart from party activists and members of the trade union named "Sotsprof", the rally in Maikop was also addressed by current pensioners, who urged young people to closely monitor the progress of the pension reform and actively defend their interests and their future.
Today, a rally with similar demands was held in Volgograd with participation of about 200 people.
