Vitaly Mutko: Olympic infrastructure is ready and will be handed over to IOC on January 7
Russia has fulfilled all its commitments to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the organization of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. This was stated on December 23 by Vitaly Mutko, the head of the Russian Ministry of Sports, who noted that the Organizing Committee "Sochi-2014" still considers some issues with completion of a number of accommodation facilities.
The Minister has mentioned the high availability of sports facilities, emphasizing that at present, some of them undergo last adjustment of technology solutions.
"As far as sports facilities are concerned, they are all ready. There are some questions to builders to complete a number of objects, but they relate to accommodation facilities. The entire infrastructure is ready, and on January 7, it will be handed over to the IOC," the agency "R-Sport" quotes Vitaly Mutko as saying.
Besides, the head of the Ministry of Sports has noted favourable weather conditions in Sochi that allowed the organizers of the 2014 Olympic Games to stock enough snow in the mountain cluster for the event of snowless February.
