Prosecutor's Office: in 2013, 38 women from Dagestan forged documents to receive maternity capital
In 2013, the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan sent to the court 38 criminal cases of frauds with the maternity capital, says the website of the Office.
According to prosecutors, the women forged documents about the birth of their children in order to receive state certificates giving the right to receive maternity capital. Besides, as the Office asserts, the women used these documents for illegally receiving lump-sum payments for childbirth and monthly allowances for children up to 18 months of age.
The women are accused under Article 159.2 (fraud in obtaining payments) and Article 327 (forgery of official documents) of the Russian Criminal Code. All the prosecutors' claims have been satisfied by the court; and the defendants were sentenced to various punishments; in total, 69.5 million roubles were adjudged from them, the website of the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan wrote on December 23.
