Sochi pensioners promise to block street, should local authorities fail to remove a dump
In Sochi, about a hundred pensioners held a rally on December 25, demanding from the city authorities to remove the spontaneous dump in Parallelnaya Street and free the pass along Sevastopolskaya Street from the parked motor vehicles. The meeting was attended by people with disabilities, veterans and pensioners from 22 residential buildings located in Parallelnaya Street.
Victor Napalov, one of the organizers, said that the above problems had started long ago, but in the last three months they have been felt especially painfully.
According to his story, on a narrow general-use road car owners park their cars in three or four rows, making it impossible for an ambulance or trucks of the special motor fleet (SMF) to approach houses and take out the garbage.
"The situation worsened three months ago, when SMF trucks refused to come to us. A garbage dump has accumulated; and we fear a spread of infection. It is impossible to open windows," Mr Napalov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
In case they are not heard, pensioners promised to block traffic in one of the streets.
