Trial in case against "Novosibirsk Jamaat" grouping associated with Caucasian militants rescheduled for January 16
The Novosibirsk Regional Court has postponed till January 16 the court session on the case against the "Novosibirsk Jamaat" grouping that presumably funded Caucasian militants. This was reported by Anna Rastopchina, an official from the Novosibirsk Regional Court.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in March 2012, the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) announced the "suppression of the activity of the criminal grouping that financed Caucasian militants." On December 6, the case against ten persons accused of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF) "Novosibirsk Jamaat", banditries and robberies was sent to the Novosibirsk Regional Court. According to investigators, the defendants stole more than 5 million roubles and sent to the Caucasus more than half of the above amount.
Today, the Court was to hold the court session in the case. "One of the defendants was not brought to the trial because of his illness. Therefore, the proceedings were postponed," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Anna Rastopchina as saying.
Let us remind you that the case against Anzor Kunashev, the leader of the "Novosibirsk Jamaat", a native of Kabardino-Balkaria, has been separated from the case. He was put on the international wanted list.
