Pyatigorsk bomb had power of 50 kg of TNT (trotyl) equivalent
An explosive device detonated in Pyatigorsk on December 27 was of about 50 kg of TNT equivalent, a source from the law enforcement bodies says.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the bomb detonated in the evening in front of the road police facility (known as GIBDD) located in Circassian Highway.
At present, law enforcement bodies have already identified persons killed in the explosion of the powerful improvised explosive device (IED). Two victims, born in 1988 and 1985, were residents of the city of Georgievsk. The third victim was a resident of Pyatigorsk. This was reported by the "Interfax" with reference to law enforcers.
At present, investigators consider the explosion as an attack on lives of law enforcers and not as a terror act, the "ITAR-TASS" reports.
The authorities of the Stavropol Territory have promised to compensate for damages to the residents of Pyatigorsk, whose property was damaged in the explosion. "We will provide assistance to aggrieved citizens," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Vladimir Vladimirov, Acting Governor of the StavropolTerritory.
