Sarkisyan: Armenian opposition to address Constitutional Court after publication of ratified Armenian-Russian agreements

Activists of the Armenian opposition parties plan to address their lawsuit to the Constitutional Court of Armenia with a lawsuit regarding the invalidity of the parliamentary vote on ratification of the Armenian-Russian agreements on gas, said Lyudmila Sarkisyan, an MP from the oppositional faction "Armenian National Congress" (ANC).

Let us remind you that on December 26 the Counting Commission of the National Assembly (Parliament) invalidated, at its extraordinary sitting, the vote of the Armenian MPs on ratification on agreements with Russia because of the procedural violations admitted at vote count.

The oppositional MPs will have the right to file a suit to the Constitutional Court after the decision on ratification of the above Armenian-Russian agreements is published in the Official Gazette, the lawyer Sona Margaryan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

In his turn, Sukias Avetisyan, a member of the Counting Commission of the National Assembly and a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), said that the ratification of the agreements was held in accordance with the legislation.

"The majority of 72 MPs voted for ratification of the agreements; and nobody has the right to declare the illegality of the procedure," Sukias Avetisyan told reporters.
