Details of detentions in Volgograd: policemen disrupt nationalists' action
The police have detained about 30 members of the "People's Assembly" in Volgograd, organized in the context of recent terror acts.
A call to come out to the "People's Assembly" was spread on December 29 in social networks. According to eyewitnesses, the rally was attended by about 200 people, but the police began to disperse and detain them.
The participants of the action wanted not only to commemorate the victims, but also to discuss the problems of the city; however, the action cannot be considered political, Mikhail Yasin, a member of the organization named "Rod" (Clan), told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his story, he saw no reason with policemen to detain the participants; the latter also expressed bewilderment with the police actions.
"I am an ordinary law-abiding citizen. Here we see that people who came just to commemorate the victims and discuss these events are detained. They are sober and behave adequately. They do not resist. Why are they detained?" asked Dmitry Kiselyov, a resident of Volgograd.
