Chechen MIA: New Year celebrations pass without incidents
The celebrations of the New Year in Chechnya pass without any major incidents, said the local MIA. However, in the context of recent explosions in the Southern Federal District (SFD), policemen and rescuers are in the high alert regime.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on the New Year Eve explosions were triggered in Pyatigorsk (December 27) and in Volgograd (December 29 and 30), killing three bystanders (in Pyatigorsk), and 36 people (in Volgograd).
In Grozny, the New Year festivities passed quietly, a source from local power bodies told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, noting that it was forbidden to bring alcohol and energy drinks to crowded places; and persons in the state of intoxication were not admitted there.
The Republic's Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) has informed that rescuers and fire-fighters were on duty, along with policemen in crowded places.
Let us note here that after explosions in Volgograd and Pyatigorsk law enforcement bodies were put under the strengthened service regime both in the North-Caucasian and Southern Federal Districts (NCFD and SFD).
