Sochi opens mountain Olympic village
In Sochi, the mountain Olympic village was opened in the territory of the ski resort "Rosa Khutor". One of the key objects of the 2014 Winter Games is ready to receive 2600 athletes and sports officials.
The mountain Olympic village was erected by the builders of the "Rosa Khutor" complex within two years. The main accommodation of the participants and guests of the Olympiad in the mountain cluster looks like a modern settlement consisting of 42 cottages built in the "Alpine Style", located at an altitude of 1130 meters above sea level.
According to the official website of the alpine ski complex, the village covers the area of 23 hectares and is located in close proximity to two Olympic venues: the Extreme Park "Rosa Khutor" and the Alpine Ski Complex with the same name.
The new village can be reached by a new highway connecting Adler and Krasnaya Polyana. Besides, guests will be able to use the ropeway "Olympia", the top station of which is within a walking distance from the Olympic village. After the completion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the village will be part of the mountain resort "Rosa Khutor".
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the ski resort "Rosa Khutor" is one of the most problematic sites, the loans under which require restructuring by the "Vnesheconombank".
