As reported by a source from law enforcement bodies, the person killed on January 2 in the city of Khasavyurt was identified as Marat Shikhshaidov; Aisha Idigova, who was also killed in the same operation, was his civil law wife.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 2 two suspected militants were killed in a special operation in Khasavyurt. One of the websites, which support Dagestani militants, said that one of them was Aisha Idigova.
According to unofficial information, Marat Shikhshaidov (some media gave his name as Shikhshiitov, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") was considered to be one of the alleged organizers of the double bombing in Moscow Metro, committed by suicide bombers at "Lubyanka" and "Park Kultury" Stations on March 29, 2010. The responsibility for the attacks was then taken by the leader of North-Caucasian militants Doku (Dokku) Umarov. According to his version, it was a revenge for military operations in Chechnya.
The yesterday's casualties figured in the case of the above Metro explosions; Aisha Idigova was an accomplice, the "Interfax" reports citing its source from among Dagestani law enforcers. So far, there is no official confirmation of this information.
Let us note here that a man named Marat Shikhshaidov figured in the case about a group of female suicide bombers in Dagestan, formed by wives if killed militants, who were allegedly prepared for committing terror acts in Central Russia.
On July 12, 2010, the Information Centre of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reported an arrest in Makhachkala of six women aged from 15 to 29. According to the NAC, the women were prepared to act as suicide bombers. Marat Shikhshaidov was reported to be detained together with the women; however, later it was not confirmed.
