MIA: two people killed in shootout in North Ossetia
On Saturday, two bodies with gunshot wounds were found in the outskirt of the North-Ossetian town of Digora. The police reported that two men were killed in a shootout.
According to the preliminary data of the police, near the cafe "Dymok" in Digora, an armed skirmish burst out among young people. During the shootout, a 35-year-old resident of the village of Dur-Dur, an entrepreneur, who had a previous conviction for extortion, was shot dead.
His brother, earlier convicted for robbery, also took part in the shootout; he was severely wounded. The second casualty was a 30-year-old resident of Vladikavkaz, says the website of the Russian MIA for North Ossetia.
According to investigators, on January 4, near the cafe in the outskirt of Digora "an unidentified person shot three men" and fled the scene. Two of them died on the spot from received wounds; and the third one was hospitalized, says the website of the Chief Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for North Ossetia.
According to the preliminary version of the police, the crime was caused by "a gangsters' showdown", the Agency "15th Region" reports citing its police sources.
