In Khasavyurt, explosion occurs near grocery store
An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near "Akbar" grocery store in Khasavyurt, no one suffered. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan.
"The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. of January 4. An IED detonated near the "Akbar" grocery store located in Makhachkala Shosse Street," a policeman has said.
"At present, we still have no information why the IED was planted there," the source has added.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by advocate Sapiyat Magomedova that earlier, the owners of the exploded store received threats.
According to Sapiyat Magomedova, the store owners received threats "despite the fact that the store did not sell any alcoholic beverages or even cigarettes."
One of the villagers also confirmed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent the information about the threats to the store owners. According to the villager, the threats came from militants. "They sent an USB flash drive with the demand to pay a certain amount for jihad. It is clear the owners did not agree. Their son was killed some time ago," the source has said.
