In Sochi, protestors express their dissatisfaction with activities of city authorities (video)
Today, Sochi hosts the rally demanding to restore order in the housing and communal services and administration of the city. The rally voiced a call for the resignation of the mayor and ensuring free elections, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The rally was called "Allow us to have worthy life and work in Olympic Sochi!", and it was organized by Yuri Maryan, Chairman of the Regional Branch of the All-Russian party of social reforms, and Roman Shikarev, the leader of the NGO "Law and Order".
The protest action took place in Komsomolsky Park, 200 meters from the summer residence of Vladimir Putin. The rally was attended by about 200 persons. Participants held in their hands the posters reading: "Sochi residents are hosts of Olympic Games!", "Freedom to Evgeny Vitishko!", "Sochi is not Kuban!", "Mothers of large families are the future of Russia!", "Talentless deputies to resign!", "Stop the construction lawlessness!" and others.
The rally has adopted the resolution stating that the seven years of preparation for the Olympic Games inflicted harm to Sochi. "53 billion US dollars appeared to be not enough to induce proper order in the Olympic city," the resolution states. The organizers of the protest action intend to send the resolution to the Russian government.
