North Ossetia organizes children's New Year celebration within programme for harmonization of interethnic relations
Schoolchildren from seven Ossetian and Ingush schools of the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia took part in the children's New Year party organized within the project of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" and the Committee "Civil Assistance" entitled "Harmonization of interethnic relations in Prigorodny District through small business development".
Yulia Chardina, the leader of the project "Harmonization of Interethnic Relations", has said that was the first time when all schoolchildren from the town of Chermen came together in the same bus and that she was touched by that fact.
The event organized an integration game "Europe" developed by Galina Saganenko, Professor of the Sociological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). First, school teachers played the game, and then schoolchildren followed them, and teachers helped the players as volunteers. Besides, the schoolchildren were divided into teams, and each team developed drawings, on which they write their wishes to each other.
"All this is a part of our integration programme, which we develop since 2008. Earlier, we were wider engaged in all that, since we had more money and people. And at present, we are busy with all that to the best of our strengths and abilities. Many thanks to the German 'Memorial', since they supported us for four years," Yulia Chardina, the leader of the project "Harmonization of Interethnic Relations", said.
