Power agents plant drugs on two villagers of Dagestani Shaumyan, relatives report
Relatives of Isa Ramazanov and Ibragim Gaziev, residents of the village of Shaumyan, Kizlyar District of Dagestan, detained on suspicion of illegal drug possession, have turned to human rights activists with a complaint against the actions of power agents, who had planted, according to relatives, drugs on the detainees during searches.
Today, relatives of Isa Ramazanov, born in 1989, and Ibragim Gaziev, born in 1979, who were detained on January 7, have addressed the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy), Aisha Selimkhanova, an activist of the DRPO, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"Relatives of the detainees have complained that drugs had been planted, when their houses were searched. In both cases, family members claim that the detainees did not use drugs and were religious people," said Aisha Selimkhanova.
