Alexei Nemeryuk: Biryulyovo vegetable storage is still closed
The term of the ban on work imposed by the court on the Pokrovskaya vegetable storage located in Biryulyovo has expired; and the vegetable storage is to resume its work. This was reported by Sergey Khudyakov, an advocate of the vegetable storage's operator. The work of the Biryulyovo vegetable storage will not be resumed in the previous format. This was announced by Alexei Nemeryuk, the head of the Department of Trade and Services of Moscow.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in October 13, 2013, residents of Biryulyovo held a "people's gathering", demanding to close the Pokrovskaya vegetable storage, where most of the workers were migrants. The rally ended in pogrom and mass riots, and about 400 persons were arrested.
After the riots, the Chertanovo Court of Moscow has pronounced the decision to suspend the work of the vegetable storage operated by Joint-Stock Company (JSC) "Novye Cheryomushki" till mid-January 2014.
Meanwhile, officials from the Moscow city administration refuted the information on the resumption of the work of the Pokrovskaya vegetable storage.
Let us remind you that the mass riots in Biryulyovo occurred after the murder of Yegor Scherbakov, a local resident. Orkhan Zeinalov, a native of Azerbaijan, was detained on suspicion of committing the murder.
