In Sochi, mother and daughter accused of using violence against court marshal
In Sochi, Oksana Toropova, 28-year-old businesswoman, and her mother Olga Martynyuk, 49-year-old teacher, are accused of beating a court marshal in the office of a judge of the Khosta District Court. The mother and her daughter deny the accusations.
The conflict in the courthouse occurred on August 22, when Oksana Toropova and Olga Martynyuk came to Judge Olga Maslakova to clarify a number of issues concerning a claim for compensation for harm to health filed by Oksana Toropova on August 5.
According to Oksana Toropova, the Judge did not consider the claim stating that "medical records could not be read." Oksana Toropova has explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she has told the Judge that she treats the grounds for refusal to consider her claim as formal. During the conversation, the Judge has called a court marshal.
"He used force to pull us out of the Judge's office, although we were going to get out," Oksana Toropova has said. According to her, the court marshal used physical force, and they were protecting themselves from his attack. Her mother Olga Martynuk closed her with her body, since at that period of time, she, Oksana Toropova, received medical treatment and felt very bad.
Investigators have recognized the court marshal as being "affected by use of violence not dangerous to his health, in connection with the performance of his official duties."
"The criminal case against Olga Martynuk and Oksana Toropova contains a lot of procedural irregularities committed by the investigators. However, I would like to point out to the incorrectness of the very trial, which is being held by the Khosta District Court, where the conflict occurred," said advocate Yuri Dudchenko, who represented the defendants' interests.
