Selimkhanova: unidentified people in Dagestan collect data on "Pravozaschita" activities
Aisha Selimkhanova, the spokesperson for the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy), said that she fears for her life after a visit to the DRPO's office of unidentified persons who asked about her work schedule.
Aisha told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on Thursday, when she was in the office in Makhachkala, some stranger knocked on the door.
"I walked over and opened the door. A man whom I had not seen before at first told me that I forgot the key in the door lock; then turned the conversation to the fact that he had accidentally dropped on some business. He failed to explain what his business was," said Selimkhanova.
Ten minutes, according to her story, eyewitnesses told her that two unidentified men came up to them and asked about her work schedule.
Her fears, as Selimkhanova explained, are caused by the fact that it works in the human rights organization. "Besides, in Dagestan, Salafi women-Muslims are often abducted by security services," she said.
Let us remind you that on September 18, 2013, Gulnara Rustamova and Aisha Selimkhanova, co-chairs of the DRPO turned to the HRC "Memorial" complaining that members of their organization are exposed to law enforcers' pressure.
