Six participants of ethnically motivated killing in Rostov convicted
Six persons who committed a murder in Rostov-on-Don on the motives of national hatred have been sentenced to various terms in prison by the North-Caucasian District Military Court.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the body of a 19-year-old ethnic Turk with signs of violent death was found on May 6, 2012, in Rostov-on-Don. On suspicion of committing the murder three young men were initially detained; later, a few more people came under suspicion. The investigation revealed that national hatred was the motive of the murder. In October 2013, the case against six defendants was completed and sent to the court.
During the today's court session Dmitry Kurganskiy was sentenced to 19 years in prison, and Andrei Murka – to 11 years and two months in a high security colony, the "Interfax" reports.
Besides, the court has sentenced Ilya Samotyuk to 1 year and 7 months in a settlement-colony. His term was found served. Yuri Khruschov received 18 months of correctional labour and obligation to pay out compensation for moral harm in the amount of 10,000 roubles in favour of the victim – a friend of the deceased, who was beaten. Vladimir Ivanov was sentenced to one year, and Pavel Denikin to 7 months of correctional labour.
