Builder beaten in Sochi sues ex-policeman for compensation of 1.5 million roubles

At the trial held at the Adler District Court of Sochi against a former policeman Sergey Kuznetsov, accused of abuse of office by beating Pavel Solovyov, a builder at Olympic facilities, the defence witnesses claimed innocence of the ex-policeman.

Pavel Solovyov, who worked at the Olympic construction, was hospitalized on April 3, 2013, in a grave condition. He asserts that he was beaten by policemen. Sergey Kuznetsov admits that he beat Solovyov, but he is sure that could not cause any serious harm to his health.

Another court session was held on January 16. Five defence witnesses claimed Sergey Kuznetsov's innocence, as Alexander Enin, Solovyov's advocate, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

In the course of the litigation, the victim and his advocate lodged a civil suit for compensation of material damage and moral harm in the amount of 1.5 million roubles. The judge announced a break till January 28.
