Grouping "Ansar al-Sunna" claims responsibility for terror acts in Volgograd
The grouping "Ansar al-Sunna" claims responsibility for the terror acts in Volgograd. This was announced by the statement disseminated on the websites supporting North-Caucasian militants.
The statement on behalf of the "Mujahideen from subversive grouping 'Ansar al-Sunna' led by Emir Umar" was posted on the "Youtube" on January 18. The text of the statement was disseminated on the websites supporting the armed underground of Northern Caucasus. The statement stresses that the bombings were committed by suicide bombers named Suleiman and Abdurakhman. Their surnames are not mentioned.
In particular, the statement claims that those attacks were carried out after Doku Umarov, the leader of the "Imarat Kavkaz", called off the moratorium on subversive actions. The statement also warns that such attacks will continue.
It should be noted that the grouping "Ansar al-Sunna" is known as the paramilitary association, created in September 2003 in Iraq, which has announced that it fights against the US presence in Iraq and the government of that country. According to the edition "Anti-terror", the grouping "Ansar al-Sunna" consists of Kurds and Arab internationalists.
