In North Ossetia, policemen search house of Imam from Beslan Mosque
On January 18, investigators from the Centre to combat extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for North Ossetia conducted a search in the household of Soslan Boradzov, Imam of the Beslan Mosque. This was reported by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of North Ossetia.
"They presented the search warrant, which was issued on the basis of the fact that I am suspected of involvement in extremist criminal grouping and dissemination of extremist ideology," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Soslan Boradzov, Imam of the Beslan Mosque.
The religious figure associates the recent search with the "detractors' activity" and "attempts to destabilize the community."
The SAM of North Ossetia has reported on searches of the houses of members of the republic's religious community that became more frequent. "During recent two weeks, it was the fourth search of a member of the Republic's Spiritual Administration of Muslims," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Khadjimurat Gatsalov, co-Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia, Chairman of the SAM of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
The Mufti associates the searches with the continuation of provocations against the Muslim community.
