NOCs of Germany, Italy and Slovenia receive letters with threats of terror acts in Sochi

Today, officials of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Germany, Italy and Slovenia have reported that they had received emails with threats of terror acts against their athletes who go to the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Let us remind you that also today a similar statement about receipt of a letter with threats was made by Zsolt Borkai, the Chairman of the NOC of Hungary.

The NOC of Slovenia received a letter with threats written in the Russian language.

"Our committee received a letter in Russian; we translated it and redirected to the police," the RBC quotes today Brahn Dmitrovich, the spokesman of the Slovenian Olympic team.

The NOCs of Germany and Italy have also received threat messages.

Officials in Germany have already stated that they will treat the threats very seriously. The spokesman of the German NOC said that such letters are most probably sent in plenty, the Reuters reports.
