Medvedev: security services should treat Doku Umarov alive until reliable evidence of his death is presented
Russian Premier Dmitry Medvedev said that special services should treat Doku Umarov as a live person as long as reliable evidence of his death is presented. Meanwhile, on January 22, a new charge was presented in absentia to the leader of North-Caucasian militants leaders – of justifying of terrorism, said a source familiar with the situation.
"I think that unless an evidence of the death of a terrorist (I don't want to give any names) is presented, special services should think he is live." Dmitry Medvedev said on January 22 in an interview with CNN.
Also on January 22 it became known that Umarov was additionally accused in absentia of public justification of terrorist activities. The charge is based on one of his video appeals posted on the Internet, the "Interfax" quotes its source as saying.
