Armenia's CC suspends pension system law

Today, the Constitutional Court (CC) of Armenia has decided to suspend the new law on the mandatory accumulative pension system.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that four oppositional parties of Armenia had appealed to the CC demanding to recognize the newly adopted Law "On Mandatory Accumulative Pension System" as unconstitutional and suspend it until a final decision.

The CC plans to consider the appeal on March 28. Until then, it was decided to suspend Articles 76 and 86 of Part 3 of the new law on the mandatory accumulative pension system, a source from the press service of the CC told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Let us remind you that the accumulative pension system has been in force in the country since January 1. Its opponents assert that the provision on making mandatory five-percent donations from each monthly salary will worsen the position of disadvantaged groups of the population.
