FSB denies presence in Sochi of potential suicide bomber Ibragimova
The information about the arrival in Sochi of Ruzanna Ibragimova, a suicide bomber, who is preparing a terror act, is not true, but the person of Ibragimova is real, said the spokesman of the Sochi regional FSB office. The city police have also stated that there are no grounds to worry about the presence of suicide bombers in Sochi.
A copy of the document, dated January 13, 2014, and named "On departure from Dagestan a female suicide bomber to Sochi" appeared on the website "BlogSochi" on January 19. "The document from the FSB addressed to the head of the Sochi office was handed over to me by my sources from law enforcement bodies," Alexander Valov, the head of the "BlogSochi", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Colonel Vladimir Gerasimenko, a deputy head of the 3rd Division of the Sochi office of the Russia's FSB for the Krasnodar Territory, whose telephone number was given in the document as a contact person, drew attention, in his comment to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, to the fact that the document has no registration number.
"Please, quiet the population: there's no ground to worry about the presence of a suicide bomber in Sochi," said Vladimir Gerasimenko. "However, Ibragimova is a real, not fictional, person."
Another FSB agent has added, on condition of anonymity, that there is no information about Ruzanna Ibragimova's presence in Sochi, and drew attention to the format of the document, which, in his opinion, "indicates its unreliability."
"It seems that someone from the FSB or UVD (Interior Department) decided to make fun of blogger Valov; or this not quite appropriate 'canard' was invented jointly with the blogger in order to intimidate the population and visitors," said the FSB source.
