First cruise ship-hotel for guests of 2014 Olympics arrives in Sochi
The cruise liner Thomson Spirit has moored at the Imereti Port of Sochi ready to accommodate guests of the Winter Olympics. Floating hotel can house more than 1200 people.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since November 2013 Russian and foreign tour operators have been selling rooms in five ships; three of them will anchor in Sochi Port, and two – in Imereti Port near the Olympic Park. In total, seven cruise liners will provide their cabins to Olympic guests.
Thomson Spirit was the first one to moor at Imereti Port. The liner, built in 1984, has 627 cabins capable to house 1254 persons; its home port is Malta, the "Interfax" reports.
On February 5-24, 2014, the Imereti Port will also house the cruise liners Grand Holiday and Louis Olympia, where the level of hotel rooms is equal to four stars. The Sochi Port will house a five-star Norwegian Jade and three-star MS Princess Maria and SPL Princess Anastasia, the "Business Gazeta" reports.
By 7 February, the sail training ship "Krusenstern" is expected at Sochi Port, which will stay there until February 25 as one of the Olympic venues for receiving the participants and guests of the 2014 Games.
