Chechnya: Alu Amirkhanov is new Kadi of Urus-Martan District
Alu Amirkhanov, earlier Imam of the mosque named after Akhmad Kadyrov, has been appointed a new Kadi (Islamic Judge) of the Urus-Martan District of Chechnya.
The Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of the republic has characterised Alu Amirkhanov as a competent person, well-versed in religious matters.
Let us remind you that on January 23, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, announced the appointment of a new Kadi of Grozny – Adam Ilyasov, the former Imam of the Republic's Mall "Berkat", located in the Chechen capital.
In the course of a travel session, held in Urus-Martan, Ramzan Kadyrov also demanded to pay serious attention to the issues of spiritual and moral education of the youth, as the available information suggests that preachers of radical ideas and Wahhabism have intensified their efforts in the Urus-Martan District.
According to Kadyrov, in the period between the two military campaigns in Chechnya Urus-Martan became a sort of a centre of Wahhabis; and primarily locals suffered from their actions.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 10 Ramzan Kadyrov demanded from power agents to strengthen the fight with the radical movements and their followers, after which the republic's security forces began detaining en masse the young people "looking like Wahhabis" and forcibly shave their beards.
