IOC demands from OC "Sochi-2014" to solve the problem of hotels in Mountain Cluster
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has urged the Organizing Committee (OC) of the Olympic Games in Sochi to take urgent measures to address the problem of unavailability of accommodations for the journalists, who came to work in the Mountain Cluster of the Games.
According to the IOC, only six out of nine hotels intended for the media people located in the above Cluster are fully ready to receive guests.
"There are still some issues that need to be addressed, as always happens before the Games, but we are in contact with the OC and hope that the situation will be resolved in the next couple of days", the Associated Press quoted IOC President Thomas Bach on February 3.
According to his story, 97% of hotel rooms in Sochi "are perfectly prepared." The organizers expect 11,000 journalists.
"We were assured: 24,000 rooms have been commissioned; 97 percent of them are ready. There are some imperfections in the remaining three percent. All who have problems were temporarily housed in other rooms," the "Sovietskiy Sport" quotes Thomas Bach as saying.
