Sochi residents complain about absence of information on route of Olympic Torch Relay
The Sochi residents, who would like to welcome the Olympic Torch Relay, complain about the absence of information about the route of torchbearers. The "hotline" of "Sochi-2014" Organizing Committee (OC) answers that this information is not disclosed for security reasons.
On February 5, the 123-day-long all-Russian Olympic Torch Relay "Sochi-2014" was welcomed by the suburbs of Sochi, the capital of the Olympic Games, the All-Russian Children Centre "Orlyonok" (Eaglet), the Resort Lazarevskoe and Adler. Its total route will make over 44 kilometres. On February 6 and 7, the relay will pass through Sochi, and end with the lighting of the Olympic Flame at the "Fischt" Stadium.
"We looked through all the media, watched TV news – everywhere they give general information that the torch will be brought around. But where and when – the information is concealed, but this is a citywide, all-Russian and international holiday! Should we welcome it behind closed doors, fences and barbed wire?" Olga Lobova, a Sochi resident is indignant.
