In Dagestan, office of "Pravozaschita" is searched
The office of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) is now being searched with confiscation of financial and other documents, said Aisha Selimkhanova, a human rights activist.
"The search warrant says that the respective authorities have received information that the DRPO receives financial support from international terrorist organizations," said Aisha, adding that all the requested documents were presented to the searchers.
"I gave them all the necessary documents, including financial ones, for them to make sure that currently we have zero on our account. We receive no financial help at all, especially from some dubious organizations," Ms Selimkhanova has clarified.
Let us remind you that now a trial is on in Dagestan of Zarema Bagavutdinova, another activist of the DRPO "Pravozaschita", who is accused of facilitating the terrorist activities. On December 18, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", which is monitoring the Bagavutdinova's case, decided to treat her as a political prisoner.
