Five persons killed, one detained in special operation in Makhachkala
Five members of the "Buynaksk" militant grouping were killed during the today's special operation in Makhachkala, another one surrendered, said a source from the Dagestani MIA.
Today, militants were blocked in a five-storey house in Gagarin Street in Makhachkala. Residents of neighbouring houses were evacuated.
During the negotiations, one of the militants surrendered, while others refused to go out and attempted to break through the cordon, the source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"In the course of the shootout they were killed. Now, the apartment is inspected. Supposedly, there are five casualties," said the source.
According to his version, it has been preliminarily established that those in the blocked apartment were Alexei Pashentsev, the leader of the "Buynaksk" grouping, and Abdurakhman-Suguri Magomedov, a member of the grouping. Other casualties are being identified.
