Circassian activists report detention of chairman of "Adyge-Khase" of Krasnodar Territory
Asker Sokht, the leader of the public organization "Adyge-Khase" of the Krasnodar Territory was detained on February 14 in Krasnodar, Circassian activists have reported.
A source from the International Circassian Association told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the detention of Sokht has to do with his criticism of the Sochi Olympics and may be an attempt to bring him to justice under the anti-extremist legislation.
Andzor Kabard, a Circassian activist and an ex-chairman of the Russian Congress of Caucasian Nations, said that he learnt about the Sokht's detention from social networks. He could not specify any possible reasons for it.
"Asker Sokht is known for his loyal attitude to the position of the Russian state on the Olympics," Andzor Kabard has noted.
