KBR resident says he was beaten and tortured by policemen
The mother and the advocate of Azamat Eguzhokov, a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), detained on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons, declare that he was exposed to unlawful methods of investigation.
Azamat Eguzhokov, born in 1992, was detained on January 11. As he told to his lawyer Madina Kipova, policemen came at night to his home, began searching him and planted a grenade and ammunition into his pockets.
Policemen also asked about his uncle Murat Shogenov, who left home about a year ago and whose whereabouts is still unknown to the family.
They continued beating and torturing Eguzhokov at the police station, where he was taken. Currently he is kept at the Nalchik SIZO (pre-trial prison).
Madina Kipova said that Eguzhokov underwent a forensic examination, which confirmed the presence of traces of beating on his body. She applied to the Investigating Department for the KBR of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) asking to prosecute the involved policemen.
Svetlana Shogenova said that she would apply to the KBR Ombudsman Boris Zumakulov and other human rights organizations on the violation of her son's rights.
