Ex-policeman Pavlyuchenkov testifies against defendants in Politkovskaya's murder case
Today, the former police officer Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov, who had been sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment under the case of the murder of the observer of the "Novaya Gazeta" Anna Politkovskaya, performed as a witness, and repeated his earlier testimony about the preparation for the crime.
"I think that three defendants were involved in the murder: Khadjikurbanov, who informed me that 'we have completed our task,' Lom-Ali Gaitukaev and Rustam Makhmudov, whom I passed all the information on the surveillance. I have never seen Ibragim and Djabrail Makhmudov," the "Life News" quotes Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov as saying at the today's court session.
Let us remind you that the retired Militia Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov was detained on suspicion of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya on August 23, 2011. He went on to deal with the investigation, and then ceased to be the organizer of the crime – according to the new version of the investigation, he organized the surveillance of the journalist, and also acquired a gun to be used in the killing. Pavlyuchenkov had been sentenced to 11 years in prison.
