Ecologist Evgeny Vitishko sent from Tuapse detention to Krasnodar SIZO
Evgeny Vitishko, a convicted activist of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch), has been convoyed from the special detention facility of the Tuapse OVD (Interior Division) to the Krasnodar SIZO (pre-trial prison), where he will wait for his departure to a colony-settlement, said Anna Mitrenko, a member of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of the Krasnodar Territory.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on Tuesday Victoria Zolotaryova, an activist of the "EcoWatch", said that social activists, journalists and lawyers gathered near the above detention centre in Tuapse, trying to establish the whereabouts of Evgeny Vitishko.
According to the above OVD, the decision on convoying Evgeny Vitishko was made on February 17 by the Territorial Court. Mitrenko said that they could not receive the precise information about Vitishko's whereabouts for several hours.
Suren Gazaryan, another activist of the "EcoWatch", suggests that the local UFSIN (Penitentiary Department) could initiate a request to convoy Vitishko to the colony-settlement. His convoying can mean initiation of another criminal case against Vitishko, Gazaryan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
