Novorossiysk court fines activist Darya Polyudova and arrests her for 15 days
Today, Darya Polyudova, an activist of the organization named "Rot Front", who was detained in Novorossiysk, was sentenced to administrative arrest and fine, she said after the court session.
Let us remind you that yesterday, on February 18, policemen came to Polyudova's home and demanded that she went with them to the Tsentralny ROVD (District Interior Division) of Novorossiysk, where a protocol was drawn up against her under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian federation (disobedience to a lawful order of a policeman). Policemen explained their actions by Polyudova's failure to appear at the court on February 17, when the case was to be considered related to her picket on February 15, which was aimed, as previously reported, against the 2014 Olympics.
According to the updated information, a solo picket was held on that day by Polyudova at the Lenin monument in the centre of Novorossiysk with a poster "People are sick and tired of administration!"
Today, Darya Polyudova was taken to the court of Novorossiysk, where two administrative protocols were considered. The court has ruled to fine the activist with 10,000 roubles for a picket held on February 15, and arrest her for 15 days for disobeying the police.
According to Polyudova, she intends to appeal against the ruling and announce a hunger strike.
