GPO forbids journalist Ismayilova to leave Baku without notice
Today, Khadija Ismayilova, a journalist of the Azerbaijani service of Radio Liberty, was again questioned at the Investigating Department of Grave Serious Crimes of the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Azerbaijan as a witness in a criminal case involving disclosure of state secrets. She was forbidden to leave Baku and Azerbaijan without prior informing investigators for the period of the inquiry.
Let us remind you that that on February 17 Khadija Ismayilova posted a photo on her Facebook page of a report written by a captain of the Ministry of National Security (MNS) of Azerbaijan. It read about recruitment of one of the activists of the opposition, who obliged to inform the MNS for money about the activities within the opposition.
After today's interrogation at the GPO Ismayilova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that "the investigator asked the same questions as yesterday."
She drew attention to the fact that the material that has so much interested the prosecutors was distributed on social networks back in 2011. "I'm not the first to circulate it," said Ismayilova.
The journalist believes that her attraction to the investigation was politically motivated and related to her investigative journalism.
