Pussy Riot girls state ill-treatment by policemen at press conference in Sochi
Today, the Kurortny Township of Adler hosted a press conference of the members of the punk band Pussy Riot, where Nadezhda Tolokonnikova stated that she was rudely treated by Sochi policemen.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that the press conference was attended by foreign and Russian reporters.
"The aim of today's press conference is to tell you about the actions of the authorities of Sochi, which unreasonably detained us and stated that we were on the FSB's wanted list," said Tolokonnikova at opening the event.
She added that they were mistreated and beaten by policemen, who tried to justify the detention by some theft committed at the hotel.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, another group member, reported their detention on February 18 on the Twitter. Some other people were detained with them. According to the Sochi UVD (Interior Department), all the detainees were questioned in connection with the report at the hotel.
