Novorossiysk: advocate of Darya Polyudova drafts complaint against her arrest
Marina Dubrovina, a lawyer of the Novorossiysk-based Interregional Human Rights Association "Agora", who represents, since February 19, the interests of Darya Polyudova, the leader of the Novorossiysk branch of the "Rot Front" Party, has announced her intention to appeal against the court ruling to sentence her client to 15 days of arrest and a fine of 10,000 roubles for a solo picket.
According to Marina, there are no complaints about her client's custody conditions; she confirmed Darya's intention to go on hunger strike, but expressed doubt that the girl would really keep it until the end of her term. "They've got a problem with drinking water there, so I doubt that Darya will keep her protest for all 15 days," Marina Dubrovina told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
She added that, based on a story told by Polyudova, her detention was "pretty tough", but did not specify the circumstances.
